Friends of Meath Gardens

WE HOLD VOLUNTEERING EVENTS EVERY MONTH. PLEASE COME ALONG, MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND CONNECT WITH MOTHER EARTH!

There is much to be done in Meath Gardens every month.  In the winter and spring, our volunteers plant new shrubs, bulbs and trees.  In the summer, we weed and prune the plants in the garden, spread mulch to enrich the soil and sometimes have picnics in the gardens.  In the autumn, there is much work to be done after the hot summer still pruning and sometimes watering if the summer has been very dry.

Our volunteers come from the residences around the gardens, the local schools and from other community groups in East London.  On really big volunteering events, we sometimes get volunteers from all over London and even further afield!

Our events are a great way to make new friends, relax and get connected with "mother earth".  Some of our volunteers say that the best bit for them are the drinks we have in the local pub afterwards :)
